What an adventure! Since Avery is incapable of flying on a plane without screaming bloody murder the entire time and inevitably rolling around on the flight attendant's area like an alligator killing its prey, we decided to pack up the girls, a ton of junk, food, Krysta, and Sydney (yes, Sydney), and haul off to PA in the truck. Now while this seems like a fairly routine activity - riding in the car - it was far from it. First of all, let's get back to Sydney. beginning weeks before, Dan started asking if he could bring her. My answer was always an emphatic NO!
Dan: But poor Syd will be all cooped up in her crate all week all alone!
Me: The other dogs will be alone, too!
Dan: But Syd is in the crate! I can't believe you'd leave her in there all day every day!
Me: All they do is sleep all day anyway! NO! She freaks out in the car and shakes and whines and runs back and forth from me to you. NO!
Dan: Aw! Poor Syd. Mommy doesn't love you....
And the conversations continued for a few weeks...
Finally, guess what happened?
Oh...did I mention this pic was taken while we were driving? Yeah. Great.
I don't have any pictures of our car ride there. Why? Because it was flaming with the devil's spitfire and tears from Hell. Arrows of disgust and boogers of malice, screeching of the primal beasts of the underworld. It was bad. Very bad. Krysta was with us, and when we finally got to our Toledo hotel room, we quickly dumped the spawns of satan on her and we went out to PF Chang's for a ton of good food and drink! Phew!
The next day we dropped Krysta off at her grandparents in Pittsburg and we finished out the day at Mike and Gina's - and we got to see their two twin boys, Jake and Cole! There were a tons of people there for their annual 4th of July party, and the kids had a blast, even though it was RIDICULOUSLY HOT!
the pics are sort of out of order...
Here is Morgan and two friends that she made. They had a lot of fun!
They even rode big wheels down the hill...
fireworks at night in the backyard!
Cole, Jake, and Morgan
Avery swinging
Back to the big wheels down the hill...so fast! (She actually fell off of this one!)
Then all of the kids gave Avery a bat, and the fun ensued!
At the end of the night Avery needed a shot! (So did the rest of us!)
