Life Lessons at School and at Home

Lesson #1:
Just when you think you know your kid, who ALWAYS hates waking up early for school, and who will whine and complain when you enter then room to give her a hug and a kiss, and who will point out to you that it's still dark outside, and who doesn't want to go to school, and who wants me to tell Catie NOT to bother her, (but who also, for some reason, has NO PROBLEM waking up early on a weekend), decided to surprise me at 6:30 with this sight - she had awakened early and set up all of her "friends" to watch the Smurfs with her. This is what I walked in to. Kind of creepy, in a way!

Then, the girls had a cute little holiday celebration at their school so when it was done at 12:00, where else better than to take them back to my school where they proceeded to dominate a bunch of 18 year olds for 2 hours! So...
Lesson #2: High schoolers get SCHOOLED!

Playing with a Tralfamadorian (an alien from the novel Slaughterhouse-Five)

Being a kitty under my desk.

Putting sparkly play-doh on my desk....and floor.

 Wearing an elf hat!

Lesson #4: They ALWAYS remember the special things.
This is a story that Morgan wrote for me! Don't forget that, over the Thanksgiving break, we went to see Frozen together! This is super special!!!

The ginger bread house she made at school:

Lesson #5: When I'm trying to get essays graded, THIS will happen!

Lesson #6: Put the essays away and cuddle.

Lesson #7: When you hang stockings with care, expect them to be massacred by kids with crazy hair.

And a child behind her playing with a piggy bank.

Cuties, for sure.

Morgan Will Heal the World

Avery will dominate it, that's for sure.

But Morgan? She's so sensitive and kind and thoughtful and loving. She knows that Savannah is old and decrepit, so she made her a little "area" just for her, complete with blankets and toys and decorations!

And here she's giving Savannah a pretty handkerchief for a new collar!

Putting the "blankets" on her...

Blankets...

Now on to Cooper, who has completely licked her left front paw to pieces. It's pretty gross, and we have tried everything to get her to stop. She can get around every cone and bitter apple does nothing to deter her. So she just licks and licks and licks. And Morgan noticed, and wanted to help...

So we bandaged her up together.

Putting her paw on a pillow.

Aw!

My favorite one...

All decorated!!! Please note the beads, the care for the bum paw, and the little dish of water! Um, yeah, and the ADT sign randomly stuck in the coffee table! Why not?!?!

Now they are signing her "cast"!!!

Love the look on Cooper's face!

Morgan is yelling at me because I told her that we'd have to put everything away, and she freaked because "Mommy, how is Cooper ever gonna get better if she can't lay down in her barn?" Fair enough.
