Priceless!

Three things of note today.

The girls are Flyers fans. Especially Avery. She knows all about hockey and the flyers and loves to wear a shirt with the logo. Morgan rarely wants a shirt on, but at least respects the zephyr. Flyers and 1-1 with the Devils and play game three tonight. Let's go Flyers! (Yes, I know it's the same pic as above!)

Then there's Avery and her "let's get her out of the mut phase...."

Yeah, that's going well.

She will at least take it out of her mouth to speak when told to do so, and I think that she understands that Dr. Karen told her that she shouldn't have it during the day, but old habits are hard to break. We gently try to keep her from resorting to the mut, now, but sometimes...just sometimes...she's not too happy about that!

Then again, there are times when she's super happy and belly laughing, and those are the best of times! As you may know, it's virtually impossible to take a pic of her in a real laugh. Usually she looks like a deer caught in headlights in the photos, but this time I actually got her!

And then there's the "calm" one. The imaginative one. She likes to create little scenarios of fun! Here you'll see her version of sitting outside with her blankies, having a dinner party!

But perhaps the most priceless moment of them all came tonight once we thought Avery was in bed. I went to hop in the shower and told Morgan, "If Avery gets out of bed, come tell me or Daddy." For the record, there's a gate in Avery's doorway, so if she opens the door it's no big deal. Well, in an out of the ordinary moment, Avery actually got out of bed and opened the door. I know this because Morgan came in the bathroom to tell me. I told her to go tell Daddy. Well, after a few minutes I was all done and left the bathroom. I asked Morgan if Daddy got Avery back to sleep and she said, "No, I did it!"

Me: What?!

Morgan: Yeah, she had fuzz on her hand so I took it off through the gate and told her to go back to bed. And she did.

(really?!?!)

Me: That's awesome, Morgan! Thanks for being a good big sister!

Maybe 15 minutes later I watched Avery get out of bed again, so figuring that I had a good thing going here, I told Morgan to go tell her to go back to bed.

Morgan: Ok!

Me: Yay!

Morgan got the "fuzz" off of her hands again and told her to go back to sleep. Avery shut the door and went back in her crib.
Here are some photos...

Avery at the gate right before Morgan got to the top of the stairs. But please note, Morgan yelled at her the entire way UP the stairs to get back in bed!!! (Obviously, Avery obeyed!)

Avery slamming the door in Morgan's face...

Morgan opened the door and lectured Avery - "That's not nice!"
Below is a blurry pic of Avery running back to her crib and hiding under the blankies!

Then, about 15 minutes later, Avery got out AGAIN for the same reason. Fuzz on her fingers! Really?!
But this time she and Morgan got into a "back and forth" running challenge. Morgan would run away from the gate where Avery stood, then run back. Tag! Avery would run away from the gate and back. Tag! Repeat!
Listening from the first floor, there was a lot of pounding feet, laughter, and shrieking. This lasted for over ten minutes....I finally had to go up and tell Avery to get back in her crib! And there she is, still (8:18). We'll see if she stays there or comes out a 7th times because there's "fuzz!"

Bottom line?
Avery is weird!!!!! (Said with LOVE!)
