Girls Getting Along!
The girls, for the most part, have been getting along so well! Morgan helps to put Avery to bed, Avery gives Morgan hugs when she's sad, Morgan helps Avery play games, Avery helps Morgan do what Morgan does!
The above pics are of Avery in "bed" feeding her baby, and of Morgan giving Avery a kiss goodnight!
Here they are watching TV together! Note both the fact that they are next to each other (I'm not in the middle) and Avery's Flyers shirt!!!!
But then, today, came the best cooperation EVER! While Krystle and I sat at the island, Morgan and Avery were on the kitchen floor playing with a new game. Essentially, you push the two sides down, set the timer, try to put as many shapes on your side of the board as possible, and when time's up, the two sides pop up, sending the pieces flying! Well, this turned into a high alert orange level disaster! In the kitchen, Morgan would set the "bomb" and run to the lazy susan, telling Avery to hurry up and hold her because, "it's gonna blow!" They did this repeatedly...
Then they took the game up to Avery's room and we watched them set the "bomb" and run to Avery's crib for safety. But it was even funnier because they didn't know that we were watching and Morgan at one point said, "Aw! This thing isn't working so well!"
Fun times!
Also, did I mention that I spent over an HOUR taking apart Avery's crib to make a toddler bed? But I can't find the toddler bed rail, so at first I was just going to leave the mattress on the floor. But that upset me because it just seemed so vulnerable, even though she wouldn't fall far! I grabbed the one half of the rails from the bed and put them, unsecured, under the mattress. However, any movement disrupted their placement, so that wasn't good. So I put the spring back on the crib to keep the mattress off of the floor, and then took BOTH sides of the rail and ran the cables under the mattress. That seemed to work. She's been doing well in the crib with modifications....big girl bed soon!!!
