Yippe! Easter's on its way and with it a fun filled box wrapped up with packing tape like it's Fort Knox. Grammy likes to torture us by covering every single square inch of her brown paper wrapped huge box 'O gifts. Not only is it taped up like some hermetically sealed tuna can that requires a military grade special ops stainless steel contraption to open in, but once you spend an hour releasing the contents you'll find that each little gift is lovingly wrapped as well. And just for fun, let's not forget that presents are adult proofed these days and some freak finds it incredibly funny in a sick and twisted way to tie, or rather lock, toys onto their respective boxes with materials that require a small bomb detonation to release their occupant. Total time spent on task? One hour. Total fingers lost? 1/4. There was a bit of a slip up.
Once we released the Kraken, it was time to play! Little dolls and lots of Squinkies, to which Morgan exclaimed upon opening, "Oh my goodness I was wanting these!" It was cute. However, the baby sent for Avery turned into a big war since Morgan fell in love with it, so now I'm going to have to monitor that situation closely. As of this moment the baby is "hiding" in Morgan's room because, according to Morgan, Avery has enough babies!
Now on to the traumatic story (more for me than for Morgan) - her teeth. Yesterday was her first cavity fixing day. The plan was to give her nitrous oxide and fix her back two top right molars. So first she was introduced to the "elephant nose" that she'd get to wear!
Notice the bunny baby sitting next to her? Yeah, Morgan won that one!
Anyway, Morgan had a choice of yummy smells to put inside her elephant nose, and of course she chose watermelon! So they wipe that inside the nose and this is what you get...
She did really well! A little weirded out at first, but she got used to it! Then, get this, they kicked me out!!!!!!! What?!?! I couldn't hold her hand?! But apparently when moms are in the room the kids don't focus as well, which makes sense, I guess. So I sat outside the door and spied!
And once she was all gassed up she had a bunch of novocane...
The whole process took an hour, and she sat there like a good girl and even gave thumbs up when asked! So the whole right side of her mouth was "taking a nap!" and they even gave her a little sticker to wear that said so (I guess so people wouldn't look at her when we went to Target and think there was something wrong with her, bless her heart!)
How awesome is this pic?!?!?! You should have seen her trying to sip water through a straw!
After a fun filled afternoon of waiting for her teeth to wake up, Hayden came over to play. Or, rather, get his butt kicked by a real "crowned" princess! Ha!
Poor Hayden.
And now for the exciting finale to today's fascinating blog entry. Avery was up at some horrible hour even though we put her to bed pretty late last night. And when Avery wakes up she's ready to rock 'n roll! SHE determines what she's going to wear to go outside. This is the lovely ensemble she picked today:
Yes, it's a hat (because it's cold), a long sleeve sweater dress covered by a 12 month old fleece, pants, mismatched socks, and you can't see them, but sparkly converse sneakers on her feet!
What a fashionista!
Here is one with the shoes:
So she went outside to go look for poop
And then changed shoes to go on the swings. This is how she does it...
Start here...
Lift feet and go wheeeeeee!
And then Morgan hid in the fridge....
Fun times, fun times!
